Step 04 — How Your Words Become Images

Every single word in your prompt is doing work. The AI isn't skipping over anything – it's analyzing everything and trying to build a visual from your description. Understanding this relationship is honestly the key to getting good at this. I did an experiment last week where I changed just one word and got dramatically different results. Words near the front typically get more weight – though not every AI tool works exactly the same way. Lead with what matters most. If lighting is crucial to your vision, mention it early. I used to bury important details at the end and wonder why they barely showed up. Give too little info: the AI improvises and not always well. Give too much: it tries to cram everything in and makes a mess. Finding that middle ground takes practice. Or you just use prompts from Genlab that have already figured this out. Your image doesn't look right? Cool. Don't just regenerate and hope. Ask yourself: which part is off? The lighting? The composition? Then go fix THAT specific thing in your prompt. This methodical approach beats random trial-and-error. Change one element, see what happens, learn from it.
